Company History
We are a family-owned company, really proud of the story of how we started and became the successful company we are today.
Bryken was founded by engineers Brian Taylor and Ken Dovaston with just six cam auto machines and a commitment to exceptional customer service. By the early 1990s, the company had grown steadily, occupying 1,200 sq. ft and operating 25 machines.
In 1992, we acquired High Speed Turnings, boosting capacity and workforce. By 1994, the business moved to larger premises, investing heavily in equipment and introducing 24/7 operations. By 2001, Bryken had expanded to 63,000 sqft and owned 35 CNC machines.
Continuous investment saw facilities grow to over 60,000 sq ft. Despite challenges like the 2008 recession, Bryken increased turnover by £8m in three years and was recognised as one of the UK’s most inspirational companies.
Now operating over 55 CNC machines, Bryken serves diverse industries with advanced machining capabilities. Still family-owned, the next generation leads with a focus on training, innovation, and local employment.
